August 15, 2024
Description and Objectives:
Portable Document Format (PDF) files are commonly used to share documents across platforms. These documents are widely used and often required in school and employment settings. They can include text and visuals such as images, charts, and tables to convey information.
In this presentation we provide an overview of the Acrobat Reader interface, discuss accessible versus inaccessible PDFs, and provide tips on how to create accessible PDFs. We’ll show you how to:
- Install and set up Acrobat Reader
- Set preferences and accessibility settings
- Open PDFs in a web browser or Acrobat Reader
- Navigate and save a PDF
- Use JAWS Convenient OCR to read inaccessible PDFs
