The Basic Training Tapes MP3 Files with JAWS 4.5 and 5.0 in Windows XP

Note: the audio cassettes mentioned on this page are available only while quantities last for JAWS version 4.5. The files originally recorded on cassette are still available here in MP3 format for your use. Beginning with JAWS 5.0 the files are only available on CD or in MP3 or text format. Beginning with JAWS 6.0 the files are located on the JAWS program CD in DAISY format.

Download Instructions
To download the JAWS Basic Training Tutorial MP3 files:

  1. Locate the link to the file and press ENTER.
  2. Select to save the file to disk.
  3. Note the name of the folder to which the file is being saved.
  4. Once the file or files you want to listen to are downloaded, open Windows Explorer and locate the folder to which the files were saved.
  5. The files are self extracting zip files, each one containing one MP3 file. When you locate one of the downloaded files, press ENTER to open it, and the MP3 file is copied from within it.
  6. By default, the files are saved to C:\JAWS-45-MP3. You are prompted to verify this folder. Just press ENTER to confirm this is the location to which you wish to save each file.
  7. To listen to the file, locate it and press ENTER to start it. You must have an MP3 player installed, such as RealPlayer, WinAmp, or Windows Media Player.
