Short Description:

Windows NT not requesting reboot causes Speech problems.

Problem:

After installing TestTalker on a Windows NT system, the computer will not prompt you to reboot the system. If you don't reboot, when you launch TestTalker, you will get the error message "TTSERVER error. No SAPI engines found installed." If you try to click on the TestTalker icon again, nothing will happen and TestTalker will not open. Another symptom you may experience is the hanging of Student Edition during the install when it comes to installing ViaVoice if you did not reboot after installing Teacher Edition.

Solution:

When using Windows NT, always reboot after the TestTalker install, even though TestTalker does not prompt you. If you experience these error messages it is not too late to reboot; it will clear up the problems.
