Product Name: TestTalker
Version: 1.0
Category: Speech
Short
Description:
Speech is lost
when you double-click a TestTalker file (.ttk extension) to open
it from Windows Explorer on a Windows NT system.
Problem:
Note that this
only happens under when all of the following circumstances exist:
- It only happens on Windows NT.
- It only
happens when you try to open a TestTalker file (.ttk association)
in Windows Explorer.
- It only
happens when you do not have TestTalker open at the time.
If these cases
are met, when you try to open the TestTalker file, you will get, “Unable to find or execute TTSERVER or similar EXE from SSIL.” TestTalker
then opens the document. You then will receive another error message
saying, "Speech
drivers could not be loaded. Check the speech driver setting in Change
Speech Driver and restart."
When trying to read the document, TestTalker does not speak at all. Running
Repair on either Edition does not fix the problem.
Solution:
- Close and
restart the TestTalker application.
- Then with
TestTalker up and running (it can be minimized), through Windows
Explorer you can double-click on any .ttk file,
and it will open and speak.
