Short Description:

New Research It items are not listed after updating JAWS from an older version.

Problem:

If the primary Research It item has been changed or a Research It item has been unchecked in the default Configuration file, and JAWS is updated to a newer version, the new Research It items are not listed in the Research It dialog box. This is also the case if the current version of JAWS is removed without removing shared files and user settings and a new version is installed.

Solution:

Once the updated version of JAWS is installed, do the following:

  1. From the JAWS window, go to the Utilities menu and select Configuration Manager. The default Configuration file is opened.
  2. Open the Research It Options dialog box from the Set Options menu.
  3. Navigate through the list of Research It items and press the SPACEBAR to check each of them.
  4. Press TAB to move to the OK button and press ENTER to close the dialog box.
  5. Save the changes and close the Configuration Manager.
