PAC Mate Battery Driver and Firmware Update
As part of the PAC Mate Omni™ software development, we have made improvements to the battery charging software. These improvements will guarantee that the battery is always charged to maximum capacity and extend the battery’s life span. These changes are significant enough that we wanted to make them available to all PAC Mate customers.
We recommend that you download and install both items, even if you have not noticed any drop in your battery capacity. The installation will take about five minutes and will not impact your current files or settings. The process is simple, and we recommend you do it now even if you are planning to update to the PAC Mate Omni in the future.
PAC Mate Battery Update
To update the PAC Mate battery, do the following:
- Make sure that the PAC Mate’s AC adapter is plugged in before starting the update process.
- Download and unzip the contents of the 320385-001 Battery Update Version 1.1 zip file to a location on your computer where you can easily find the following six files:

- PPIC_QX.hex Version 1.17
- PPIC_BX.hex Version 1.17
- BATTDRVR.DLL
- Autorun.INF
- 2577\Autorun.exe
- Do one of the following:
- Copy all six files to a CompactFlash® card as described in the Files Copied to CompactFlash procedure below, or
- Use ActiveSync to copy only the first four files to the \Windows folder on your PAC Mate as described in the Files Copied to \Windows Folder procedure that appears later on this page.
