PAC Mate 2.5 Language Add-insWith the 2.5 release, the PAC Mate BX and QX series is capable of supporting additional languages - without changing your primary language. This means you can have an English version of Windows Mobile 2003 on your PAC Mate, and switch to Spanish to read a document or Web page in that language. Even though the speech synthesizer language changes, your menus remain in your PAC Mate's primary language. To add a language, simply click on the desired link below, and save the downloaded file to your desktop. ActiveSync with your PAC Mate, and click on the downloaded file. Follow the instructions from the install wizard, and warm reset your PAC Mate when finished. Once you install more than one language on your PAC Mate, the Voice Settings control panel will change. You now can access a Secondary tab with a combo box to select your secondary language and control the voice, rate and pitch independently. You can then quickly and easily switch between your Primary Language and Secondary Language at will by pressing Jaws Key+S followed by L on the QX or S CHORD on the BX. You can even have a third and fourth language for your PAC Mate. Simply open the Secondary tab in Voice Settings, and select the language in the combo box that you want to use. Download additional languages below. Remember that each language will occupy between 1.5MB and 2MB in your main memory. You can install and uninstall the languages by using Add/Remove Programs in the Tools menu of ActiveSync.
