Using the links on this page, you can install and run the latest demonstration versions of JAWS®, MAGic®, and OpenBook™ software. These free demo releases are fully functional, but require a computer reboot after 40 minutes if you wish to continue using the product.

Take advantage of this free software to see how these applications can work for you. When you are ready, purchase a product license to upgrade to the released version. Also, feel free to experiment using different RealSpeak™ Solo Direct voices to customize the software to your liking. These voices are also free of charge.

JAWS supports the RealSpeak Solo Direct synthesizer from Nuance® Communications. It consists of over 40 voices in more than 20 languages. Select RealSpeak Solo Direct Voices to listen to samples or download any of these voices.

OpenBook Scanning and Reading Trial Software

The demo version of OpenBook will install in 64-bit and 32-bit versions of Windows® 7, Windows Vista® and Windows 2008 Server, 32-bit versions of Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server, and Windows 2000 operating systems.

WYNN Literacy Trial Software

Install and Check for Updates

To download and install trial software, do the following:

Select a demo software link from the previous lists.
When the File Download dialog box opens, choose Save and select a location where you can easily find the downloaded executable file.
Run the executable and follow the talking installer.

Always check for updates after installing JAWS and MAGic trial software to make sure that you have the latest product release. You can also use this opportunity to download free training books, saved in the DAISY digital document format, to use with your trial software.

Open the application's main window.
Open the Help menu.
Select Check for Updates. The update feature determines if you have the most current release. If you do not, select one or more items from the list and then select INSTALL to begin the update.
