Software Engineer/Build/Tools Developer

Freedom Scientific, a leading developer of accessibility products, is looking for a motivated, entry level software engineer to work on configuration management build tools and scripts in support of product localization of our software based products.

The candidate will be responsible for evolving current build processes by implementing automation scripts and tools necessary to support product localization. Additional responsibilities may include providing support for installation packages of our software releases via InstallShield and Microsoft WIX.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to automate processes via scripts as well provide technical assistance to localizers in support of their locales.

Specific requirements for the position include:

• demonstrated experience in software build process automation;
• specific experience in Windows based software development environment;
• experience with batch and scripting languages such as Perl;
• strong knowledge of and experience in configuration and build management for software based products;
• experience in supporting software installation packages using InstallShield and WIX;
• knowledge of source control systems such as Perforce, ClearCase, CVS, or Visual Source Safe.

The candidate must possess a sense of urgency and drive in everything he/she does, with a demonstrated ability to deliver a complete, working solution that meets specified deadlines. Additionally, the candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work in teams. A B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent is required.
