Top

Along the top, the curved part of the PAC Mate, there are orientation dots above every fifth function key.

You will find the microphone in a curved out area just to the left of the second orientation dot. The speaker is located at the top left side of keyboard above the F3 key.

Keyboard

On the bottom right of the keyboard, you will feel four buttons that form an inverted T. These are your arrow keys.

To the left of the SPACEBAR are several important keys. Moving from nearest the SPACEBAR to the furthest left, they are: BACKSLASH, ALT, WINDOWS Key, CTRL, and FUNCTION. This is similar to many laptop keyboard layouts.

To the right of the SPACEBAR, you will find more keys: INSERT (also used as the JAWS key), ALT, WINDOWS Key , and APPLICATION Key.

The top row of the keyboard has the standard F1-F12 keys, PAGE UP, SCROLL LOCK, PAUSE, BREAK, and DELETE.

Along the right side of the keyboard, moving down, you will find DELETE, HOME, PAGE UP, PAGE DOWN, and END keys. Just to the left of those keys, you will find, from top to bottom, the BACKSPACE, BACKWARD SLASH, ENTER, and SHIFT keys.

Along the left side of the keyboard, from top to bottom, you will find the ESC, TILDE, TAB, CAPS LOCK, SHIFT, and FUNCTION keys.

Bottom

Two items are on the bottom: the Reset button and a lever to lock or unlock the braille display.

The Reset button is a small hole on the left side of the PAC Mate, just to the top of the Freedom Scientific label. The lever that functions as a drawer/braille display release is on the right side of the PAC Mate's bottom, in the center of that side.
