Sending and Receiving E-mail on Your PAC Mate

Before you check e-mail, connect the PAC Mate to your PC so ActiveSync can download your e-mail.

On the Today screen, press the UP ARROW to "No Unread Messages." Press ENTER to open your e-mailbox.

Receiving and Reading E-mail

If messages exist, pressing the up and down arrows will allow you to move between messages.

1. To read the e-mail: Press ENTER to read the whole message, including headers.
2. To close the e-mail: Press ESC to close the message.
3. To reply to the e-mail: Press the APPLICATION key, and arrow down to the Reply option.  Type your reply. Press ALT+S to send your message.
4. To delete the e-mail: Press DELETE.

When a message is sent, you are returned to the list box of messages.

Creating a New E-mail

To create a new message:

1. Press CTRL+N.
2. To: You are automatically in the "To" field. Type the e-mail address for the recipient. Press TAB to move to the next field.
3. Subject: Type in the subject of the e-mail. Press TAB to move to the next field.
4. Body: You are now in the body of the message and can compose your e-mail.
5. Send: When you are finished, press ALT+S to send the message.

Additional E-mail Features

CC or BCC: To display the CC and BCC fields, when you are in a New Message, press TAB to "expand headers." Press ENTER. TAB through the fields and enter addresses for "To," "CC," and "BCC' as you wish.

Attachments: To add an attachment:

1. Press ALT
2. Press the DOWN ARROW to Edit. Press ENTER.
3. Press the down arrow to "Add Attachments." Press ENTER.
4. Choose the file you want to attach, then press ENTER.

Spell check: As you move through the Edit menu, you will also find spell check. To use it, press ENTER.

Press ESC to close out your e-mail and return to the Today Screen.
