Setting Date and TimeYou should be on the Today screen. Setting the Time ZonePress the UP ARROW until you are at the top of the screen and hear the date announced. To open the option of setting the date press ENTER. A dialog box with two setting is presented: "Home" or "Away." You can use the "Away" setting yif you travel for business. To move around in dialog box, press TAB. Press SHIFT+TAB to move backward. When you press TAB the first time, you will hear the time zone announced. You can now set the time zone you are in. You will hear PAC Mate say "GMT - 8 Pacific." The dash is a minus, indicating that Pacific time is eight hours minus GMT. To change the time zone, press the DOWN ARROW until you reach a setting that matches your location. (hear example) Setting the TimePress TAB again. PAC Mate will announce the time. You are now in an edit box where you can change the time. (hear example) Hour: PAC Mate will announce the hour and minutes. The "Hour" setting is automatically selected. Press the UP or DOWN ARROW to move to the hour you wish to have set. If you need to move between "Hour" and "Minutes," press the RIGHT or LEFT ARROW keys. Minute: Press the RIGHT ARROW key to move to the "Minutes" setting. Press the UP ARROW to move to the minutes you want to set. Seconds: Press the RIGHT ARROW to get to the "Seconds" setting. You can set seconds the same way as "Hours" or "Minutes," by using the UP and DOWN ARROWS. AM or PM: Press the RIGHT ARROW to the "AM/PM" setting. Press the UP ARROW to change between the two, and choose the one you want. (hear example - PAC Mate being set to 12:30:00 p.m.) Setting the CalendarPress TAB again and you will be on the Calendar. (hear example) The Calendar works just like the Time function does. Press the LEFT and RIGHT ARROWS to move from month to day to year. Press the UP and DOWN ARROWS to change settings within each of those selections. (hear example - PAC Mate being set to Nov. 15, 2004 ) If you wish to to check what you have entered, press and hold the INSERT key, and press the letter I. PAC Mate will announce the full date. Now that you have set the date, press TAB again. You will hear PAC Mate announce the "Time" page. To save your settings, press ENTER. PAC Mate asks whether you want to save the changes.
