Creating Tasks on your PAC Mate

Creating tasks allows you to coordinate your activities. By using Tasks, you can track the to-do progress, and even assign the task a priority, start date, end date, reminder, and amend it with notes.

Getting to Tasks

On the Today screen, press the DOWN ARROW key until you reach Tasks and press ENTER.

The first time you do this, you will hear a List view with 0 items.

If items exist, press the up and down arrow keys to move through the tasks. (hear example)

Creating a New Task

To start a new Task, press DOTS 1-4-6-CHORD then N.

You are automatically in the Subject field. You may enter a Subject or choose a pre-loaded subject. Press the DOWN ARROW key to pick from preloaded subjects, then press ENTER. (hear example)

You are then in a List view of 10 items; the top item is the subject just entered. Press the DOWN ARROW key to move through the items. If you want to change an item, press ENTER to change it. Then press ENTER to save the change and move on to the next item. Those 10 items include:

1. Subject: the subject of your task, which you just entered
2. Priority: high, normal, low
3. Status: not complete or complete
4. Starts: default is none, press ENTER to change. Press the LEFT and RIGHT ARROW keys to change the date by day, press the UP and DOWN ARROW to change the month.
5. Due: same procedure for start date of task
6. Occurs: once, every week, month, year, or a free-form pattern button
7. Reminder: remind me or do not remind me
8. Categories: you can assign the task to a pre-loaded category

When you are finished, press ESC to save the completed task.

The Today screen will now show the number of active tasks. (hear example)
