Backing up and Restoring Files on Your PAC MateYou will use ActiveSync to backup and restore files. This could be important in case you run your battery all the way down, or if you have to do a Hard Reset on your PAC Mate. In both cases, all your data would be lost, so it is important to backup your files. Backing Up FilesTo start ActiveSync, connect the USB cable to your PAC Mate and your PC. You will hear ActiveSync start. It may take a few minutes to let it synchronize. Once it is finished, you can begin the backup. (hear example) On your PC, press ALT+T. This opens the Tools menu. Press the DOWN ARROW until you hear "backup/restore." Press ENTER. You now come to a radio button list. From this list, you can choose an incremental backup or a full backup. Once you have chosen your preferred type of backup, press TAB. You will hear the location. This is a default which should be correct. Press TAB until you reach the "Backup Now" button. The process takes a while. (hear example) A tone will sound when the backup process is complete. To finish, press ENTER on the OK button. You are now back in the main ActiveSync screen.
