Installing on
NT using the option "Anyone who uses this computer" produces SAPI
speech errors.
Problem:
When installing
on a Windows NT system using the install option "Anyone who uses
this computer," you will experience the following: During the install,
after the first stage of the ViaVoice install, when the install
displays, "Publishing product information," a message pops up saying, "IBM
ViaVoice Technology - ViaVoice TTS Setup failed to launch installation
engine: Access is denied. OK." After clicking OK the installation
finishes, but no matter how you open TestTalker you get, "TTSERVER
error. No SAPI engines found installed. OK."
Solution:
If you experience
this problem:
- completely
remove TestTalker, including ViaVoice (this requires a separate
uninstall, as ViaVoice is not removed
when TestTalker
is uninstalled).
- Install
using the CD selecting "Only for me."
- Reboot even
though TestTalker does not prompt you to do so.
